A doctor was among five male customers arrested by police when they raided a brothel in Tsim Sha Tsui which provided underage prostitutes.

A man and a woman were also arrested for operating the brothel along with two girls aged 13 and 15 when officers broke into the sex den in an old building on Ichang Street last Friday.

Under an operation code named “WAVEINK”, officers cracked down the brothel in an old residential and commercial old building on Ichang Street, where they took away the two teenage.

Police arrested six local men and a local woman, aged between 22 and 57, including two operators and five customers. Sources said one of the customers is a doctor.

The two operators were arrested for allegedly keeping a vice establishment, causing or encouraging prostitution of girls under 16, while the five customers were arrested for allegedly having intercourse with girls under 16.

Superintendent Cheng Chun-kit of the Kowloon West regional crime unit said in a press conference on Sunday that one of the arrested men and the local woman were the operators at the brothel who managed Telegram accounts to release information of the prostitutes including when they will work, as well as helping customers to make reservations.

The brothel also provided rooms, towels and condoms, police said.

Each transaction costs from HK$1,300 to HK$2,500, and the hosts would take away 30 percent of the revenue from the girls, Cheng said.

“All brothel customers are regular customers there,” Cheng said. “The operation in the premises was organized.”

Cheng said police are still tracing a few girls who visited that premises during school holiday.

Police said although no evidence shows that those underage girls have been forced to engage in prostitution, at least one of them was lured by drugs for providing prostitution.

Police are also looking for triad members involved in the case as they aided and abetted those girls in prostitution, as well as providing drugs to them.

Sit Tsz-kit, senior inspector of police regional special duties squad of Kowloon West, said the brothel is different to from other vice establishments as it does not have any advertisement, light box or signboard outside the unit and building, to avoid other residents in the building to find out it's a brothel.

“It looks like an ordinary residential unit,” Sit said.

The 700-square feet brothel has six rooms, each room is about 80-square feet and has shower and a massage bed. Police also seized a large number of condoms, towels, bed sheets, shorts, massage oil, and an account book, as well as HK$45,000 cash in the premises.

Police also said it has recorded 222 sex crimes involved underage people have surged in Kowloon West in recent years, including rapes and indecent assaults, a year-on-year growth of 1.5 times.

Police said it could probably because of insufficient sex education in schools so police will cooperate with schools to improve teenagers' knowledge in this area.
